right now i m a student persuring bachelor of Engineering in computer science branch final year....i m much more interested in animation rather than coding....i wanna make my career in animation; for this...should i go n join simply the animation institute or anything else...also suggest some of the best animation institutes in india n how much it can cost
i m good at drawing n painting n have good skills in shading....please help me out..
n thanks in advance!!

Answer
If you are interested in animation, then you definitely want to go to an animation institute.  Computer Science will show you how this stuff works behind the scenes, but it won't teach you the actual skill of animation.  Most animators could care less how the software works, as long as it does what they want it to do.  You may have a leg up on them, because you will have the understanding to develop custom control scripts for your animation, that will automate different aspects of the animation.

I am in the USA, and have no working knowledge of the climate for animation and schools in India, so I am sorry, but I can not help you there.  Your painting and drawing skills will all be added tools to work with when designing 3D animations... ...you will use it all.

Cheers,
Andre
