QuestionQUESTION: my name is kunal deshpande and im from india, im 20 years old and am doing my final semester in bachelor of computer science.Along with this degree i have completed a two and a half year diploma in 3d animation in which i have learnt all the softwares such as maya,3dmax,z brush, adobe after effects, premier. After doing some research i found out that being a technical director at a animation or gaming studio would be the best choice for me as ive already done some programming softwares in my computer science degree such c/ c++,vb,javascript,pascal,java..im planning to go abroad for quality education and i was hoping that you could suggest me a few schools and also i want to know if i should opt for a internship or go for a masters degree after graduation.Any other important information regarding the technical director post would be very helpful.
thankyou
ANSWER: Hello Kunal,
Put together a portfolio of your work and apply for entry level jobs at various studios. Start getting some work experience before you go for your Masters Degree, unless you want to go directly into teaching.
Then you can possibly work and do school part time to advance your degree. There are plenty of job posts on AWN jobs.

QUESTION: thank you for your response Russell.
i would want to learn first before applying for a job or internship as i havent learnt programming keeping animation in perspective and i still feel i am not ready to apply for a job.
i wanted to know if there are schools which focus on the technical as well as creative aspect of animation where I can learn animation as well as scripting/programming because the university courses I came across normally only focus on animation.
In order to work as a scripter or a technical director what all can i include in my portfolio.(ive created a game in java can i use it?)
and what is the scope of a technical director or a scripter will i be able to work in animation as well as in gaming studios?
thanks again.
AnswerThere are plenty of schools around the world to find what you need. You need to figure out where you want to go. The costs vary from country to country.
