Question
Hello sir, I sure you have been asked this a lot but to be an animator how well do I need to draw. I will get better eventually but just for a foundation. For 2d? 3d? I want to be able to do game animation starting with iphone apps

Answer
sorry for the delay, I just got back from vacation...  It is helpful if you have some initial skill with drawing but it's not a necessity. There are alot of base models and simple forms you can start out with to help. What is important is the ability to visualize your goals in your animation. How will your objects or characters move or interact? This is where drawing and sketching can help but as long as you have that ability to think it through in your mind and quickly draw it out when needed you will do fine. Also, like you said, youre drawing skills will get better the more you do it and the more famillar you become with the process...

good luck!
