Question
Hi. I would like to know if it is possible to copy parts of a document to another document in 3DS Max 2009. Thank you in advance. Bye.

Answer
Hey Rudolph,

What you want to do is to go to FILE > Merge...

When you select the file that you want to merge into the current file, then all of the individual meshes/components will open up in a list, and you can choose which parts you want to merge. If you have things rigged, make sure that you merge all of the required parts (i.e. bones lights, mesh, space warps, etc), or you may end up with a screwed up rig.

There are other ways to integrate parts into a file like XRefs, but I won't dare go into that at this point, because it may confuse you right now.

I hope this helps, and is what you were looking for.

Cheers,
Andre
