Question
1) What are the advantages of creating a tween? Describe some of the ways you might use tweening to make an animation more interesting.

2) In Photoshop, you can create a slice that, when clicked, will direct the browser to go to another URL or open a URL in a new browser. Describe a situation where you might use this technique. Describe the difference between a user slice and an auto slice. When would you use each of these?

Answer
Sounds like I'm doing your homework Melissa, haha!

1) Tweening refers to transition frames inbeTWEEN key frames. Traditionally, a master animator would draw the key frames and an apprentice would then draw all the frames inbetween. Today, when you use animation software, you create the keyframes and the computer automatically generates the transitional frames. Tweening is an integral part of animation and what makes the motions smooth.

2) Auto slices are all treated the same, a user slice gives you individual control of each slice so more flexibility. For example you might use predominantly all autoslices for your graphic/web site but choose a user slice for a large image to control its jpeg compression to a different level than the autoslices.

good luck,
