Question
An animation company has asked me to propose an animation script for them and my friend is creating the characters. Do we still get to keep the copyright for the IP? Do you also know how much we should charge for the entire package?

Answer
This requires me to ask you a lot of questions with details to fully answer this question.

Is it a large, well known company?
Do you have an Agent?Lawyer?
Is this a feature or television series idea?
Do the characters have merchandising possibilities?
Have you copyrighted the script and characters with the Library of Congress?
Have you worked or are you professionally working in the animation industry?
is the project for broadcast/cable or Internet?

Thank you,
Russell
