Question
Hi,
An animation company has created a character based on me: my likeness, my performance  name and my voice. What rights do i have  over its use? Do I own copyright? Licensing rights? I'm concerned that it could be used  for merchandising and promotion without my involvement.

Answer
I'm afraid you need to be consulting a lawyer on this one.  I know of many instances where a person's likeness has been used, etc.  but each circumstance is different, and usually there are legal agreements done in advance, (i.e. royalties, licensing, etc.) to protect both parties interests.  All of this also depends on the countries involved and possibly international trade laws.

TALK TO A LAWYER CONCERNING THIS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, if you are afraid that you will be left out of any business concerning this.  That is all the help I can really give you.
