im trying to find the name of an anime movie, this movie is older probably 80s,, i remember a scene with a blind girl underground offering water to people who were digging, their is a robot in this movie similar to one in star wars, i believe one of the characters name is dag.i do remember another scene where one of the guys from underground escaped by digging his way up and out ,, ends up at an auction with the dag character,, he tries to save the robot by making a bid on her and , the auctioner says if you can't pay then i own you,,, the character dag buys both of their freedom ,, hope you can help identify this movie thanks for you time

The anime you describe sounds a lot like the series " Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann " It's not from the 80's, but it's the closest I have come. They live underground, they tunnel to freedom after finding a strange robot head.
