Anime/Identify Anime

Question
Hi Marc,
I was wondering if you could help me out with identifying an anime I watched a really long time ago.  I think it was only one episode, but I loved it.
The pilot of a robot that mimics his movements is a baseball pitcher.  He seems to have hidden powers somewhat.  In this episode, some guys were monitoring him.  He was being chased by some guys in a truck and he got cornered at a construction site.
He didn't know what to do, so he picked up a little rock and threw it at the truck.
The guys monitoring him noticed that he was able to channel some power into the rock and when it hit the truck, it exploded.
Later in the episode, he was able to do the same in the robot he controlled.  A ball of energy which he magnified its strength...
Hope you can help, and thanks in advance.
Jerry..

Answer
Hi Jerry,

No anime fitting that description comes to mind, I also did some research on general baseball anime but couldn't find any matches either. You can try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Robot
as you may remember the title of the anime by scrolling through the list. I apologize I couldn't help any further.

Expertise

I can answer just about any question on anime, but if I don't have the immediate information for the prospective inquirer, I definitely will research it and return an answer as soon as possible.

Experience

I started watching anime in the 80s with Robotech and Voltron forming a regular part of my viewing. I am still viewing the latest anime in addition to attending conventions and reading up on the latest news and trends. I've written for Anime Iris and also had a short stint in starting up an Anime News Site, but that has now been deactivated due to the enormous amount of time it takes to maintain it.

Education/Credentials
I believe that watching anime, interacting with other fans and going to conventions is the best way of gaining experience and knowledge in the area.
