Anime - Gaala of the Sand

Expert: Akire - 3/22/2006

Question
Yes, I'm having a debate with a cohort of mine on the origin of Gaala's name. Some scientists have questioned the very essence of the term 'Gaala' and wonder whether it dates back as far as 1200 b.c.
Several of my ((very))esteemed((but not as much as I) colleagues have recently found fossils that suggest the name Gaala is derived from the biblical name 'Jahosafat', since this character also relates to sandy/hot climate and perpetually wears eye-shadow as well.
As for the scar/tattoo on Gaala's forhead, we've also discovered that if written upside down and with a swirl on the upper right hand corner, the kanji actually translates to something like this: 'Banana-bana-fofana'.
This was very intriguing, so I desided to do some research of my own on the subject. Essentially, I unearthed an early misconception that sand was created by the gods to ward off the spirits of ancestors, in hopes that their nagging would not continue in the afterlife.
As this was silly superstition, people eventually realized their mistake and simply nailed cow entrails to their doors. This created a pleasant aroma along with breakfast the next morning.

I don't want to drag along with details, so I'll get down the argument my friend and I have been debating.

Is Gaala emo, or just gothic?

Thanks for your time,
Bob Lob Lah

Answer
Firstly I really hope this is a joke

Secondly I will assume that you mean Gaara from Naruto, he is neither emo or gothic, just abused because of his childhood and in a way scarred because of the abuse he had as a carrier of a sand monster since birth, I mean let's face it, his mom died, his dad doesn't exactly care for him, his siblings don't really do anything, he's rejected by the children of the village, and the one person he thought he could trust ends up hating him. But enough spoilers.

As for Gaara's origin in name, I can't really explain it, unless you would like me to research upon it, but as for the "tattoo" on his forehead, it's a kanji that stands for love.
Thank you for the waste of time
