Question
hello there! i've used again in the past this service and it's really brillant!
i'm looking for ages now an anime movie (or maybe series- ican't exactly remember)and i was watching it in the 80's...but it's maybe older! the only thing i can call clearly up!
it was about a war between 2 cities and the armory was a little futuristic. the main character was a well built blond quy with pointy hair..well in a scene he was trying to close a huge valve in order to avoid the total inundation of the city.
after the war he goes back to his village (a destroyed one) to find his girlfriend-and he does find her in a cabin with her little animal (think it was a squirrel). she doesn't talk to him and starts running...he's chasing her calling her name..then she stops on the top of a cliff and below is the sea! he stops too, they say something but she looks at him, says goodbye with a tear in her eye , transforms into a phoenix and flies away!!
that's all i can call up..well some points may be a little different but that's the concept!
PLEASE try to help me!! it was a movie that touched me extremely much as a child!!!
*a second question: there was also a movie which was actually the love story of Romeo & Juliet. does it happens to know the title?

 thank you very much!

Answer
I believe that the anime you are looking for is "Windaria".  It was released in 86.  Here's a link to the Anime News Network entry for it.  http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=2606

As far as a Romeo and Juliet based anime, there's lots of them out there, but specifically, there was a futuristic Romeo and Juliet released in 2007.  Linkage follows:

I can answer most general questions about most series. Recently, I have been watching Bleach, Tenjho Tenge, Rozen Maiden, DearS, Kaliedo Star, xxxHolic, Sorcerer Hunters, Noir, Chobits, Ojamajo Doremi, Naruto, and Digimon, so I am more immediately familiar with these series. I am knowledgable in manga as well, some Japanese/American cultural differences, and 'ecchi/hentai' as well. Also, I have some knowledge in anime related live action TV shows, radio broadcasts, and musicals I try to avoid Americanizations of anim

Experience

I have watched anime since the mid 90's and collected manga for just as long. Also, I was a regular customer promoted to employee at my local anime/manga shoppe for about a year before I couldn't afford it anymore. Also, have done some dabbling in drawing fanart and manga.
