Question
I live in N.C. and we have red clay soil...I want to plant my Gerber Daisy outside,so do I add sand to potting soil?  If so, how much sand to soil?  Thanks for your help.

Answer
Yes, your best option is to add sand to the soil. I would also add some lime to balance the ph level. For the sand, one part sand to 3 parts potting soil is sufficient. For the lime, apply according to the directions on the bag.

Good luck, and please write again if I can ever be of assistance.

Regards,

Mike
