Question
hi, was wondering if you would be able to tell me when is the best time to plant lunaria seeds. Its also called silver dollar plant. i live in new hampshire and have planted some in the spring and they never grew so would fall help them get a better start as they are biannual

Carol,
You can scatter Lunaria seeds any time, even now. Know that they will germinate in the spring, and grow a small, low plant the first year.  They will bloom the second year. So scatter some seeds now for germination next spring, and then scatter some more next fall for the previous year. After that you shouldn't have to seed at all because they will do the job on their own.

I've gotten some variegated Lunaria seeds from places such as Chiltern Seeds and Hudson Seeds - not only do you have the great flowers, but variegated foliage as well.
