Annuals/Poisonous?

Question
Hi Mike,
My kitty keeps eating our impatients.  Lately, she seems to be throwing up more often.  Do you know whether impatients are poisonous to animals.  Normally she only has eaten grass. Thanks! Joyce

Answer
Joyce, impatiens are not poisonous, but like many plants, they can cause stomach discomfort or even a slight illness if eaten. It is all dependent on the cat. Like humans, some are more allergic or susceptible than others.

You may want to research our veterinarian section on allexperts to ask if there is something you can give the cat to ease the discomfort. I'm sure they can help.

Good luck, and please write again if I can ever be of assistance.

Regards,

Mike
