Hi again.  Unfortunately, this phase won't just pass without a lot of work.  I don't want to interfere with the work you are doing with your counsellor, so what they say should be what you go on!  If your small meals and snacks are more than you used to eat, then yes, this is a step in the right direction, but if this isn't pushing yourself, then maybe you need to think about increasing this.

Sadly, the fear of food is all part of the eating disorder, and to recover from this, you need to fight the fear and come out of your comfort zone, but only do this with support and only when you are ready so as not to risk relapse!

You just need to hang on in there and keep working to beat this, there is no easy way, and it usually doesn't 'just pass!'

Expertise

I am a medical student and have suffered from anorexia and bulimia myself, I am willing to answer questions based on my own experiences. My advice, however, should not be used as a substitute for that of a qualified medical professional.

Experience

I suffered from anorexia from the age of about 10. By the age of 13 I was suffering from bulimia. Now after 10 years of suffering from an eating disorder, I feel that I can say that I'm well on my way with recovery and would just like to be able to share what I have learned with those in similar situations!
