I think that you should research outpatient programmes in your area.  If you think that you are able to do it without being hospitalised, which sometimes is a better way I personally think, I think that it is your best bet.

You should maybe visit your doctor and ask if there is anyone that they think could help you, such as a psychiatrist/psychologist locally that possibly specialises in eating disorders.  Nutritionists are invaluble.  You should make an appointment with one soon.  They should be able to help you build up a realistic meal plan that should help you put weight on, and in a healthy way.

You need to stop thinking about losing a 'security blanket' and think about losing the illness that may cost you your life, and your daughter, her mother!

Please just think about visiting your Dr and see what resources are available to you!

All the best

Expertise

I am a medical student and have suffered from anorexia and bulimia myself, I am willing to answer questions based on my own experiences. My advice, however, should not be used as a substitute for that of a qualified medical professional.

Experience

I suffered from anorexia from the age of about 10. By the age of 13 I was suffering from bulimia. Now after 10 years of suffering from an eating disorder, I feel that I can say that I'm well on my way with recovery and would just like to be able to share what I have learned with those in similar situations!
