Question
Please help me! Ihave been struggling with my weight for about 2 years now. I am 5'8 an I weigh 72 kg. I know that is way too much and no matter how hard I try i can't seem to loose weight. I keep trying to starve myself but at the end of the week I will only have lost about 1 kg at max. I then get mad at myself for starving so I binge for a day. I then make a resolution and try to eat healthy but it never works because I end up gaining and then the cycle begins all over again. I am not fat but I am definitly not thin, I am involved in many sports and am muscular so Idealy I would like to be 61kg but no matter how hard I try I get caught inside my over critical head and i can't do it. I need help.... an advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

I'd imagine that a lot of your weight is muscle weight if you are as muscular as you say.  As you have a lot of muscle, BMI shouldn't be taken as true as muscle weighs more than fat, and even at your current weight, your BMI is within normal range.

Avoid starvation  like the plague!  All starvation does is encourage your body to store as much as it can when you do eat!  If you eat healthy, little and often, you should be able to avoid needing to binge on high fat/sugar foods.

Expertise

I am a medical student and have suffered from anorexia and bulimia myself, I am willing to answer questions based on my own experiences. My advice, however, should not be used as a substitute for that of a qualified medical professional.

Experience

I suffered from anorexia from the age of about 10. By the age of 13 I was suffering from bulimia. Now after 10 years of suffering from an eating disorder, I feel that I can say that I'm well on my way with recovery and would just like to be able to share what I have learned with those in similar situations!
