Question
I've been suffer for bulimia for more than 20 years and now I'm anorexic. Topamax pills helped me to stop purge and it was a huge help. Now I'm anorexic because of my body weight ( 5'4 and 103.4) and I have major depression and I'm concern a little about my medication. I'm taking: 100mg Topamax (morning), 20mg Lexapro(morning), 0,5mg Zyprexa (night), Centrum, Oscal. When I check on-line a sow interactions between zyprexa and topamax. Should I be concern? I did not talk to my doctor, my bad.Can you give me any information? Thanks

I'm sorry, I can not comment on whether these drugs are interacting, but would recommend that you speak to your Dr as soon as possible.

I would like to think that your Dr knows about drug interactions, or has researched this before prescribing them, but I would still question this and ask if there are alternatives if this is the case.

Have you had, or are you receiving, any psychological help?  It is very important that you receive counselling/therapy while taking tablets for depression, or to help control the eating disorder, but these only help in the short term.  In order for you to fully beat this, it is important that the underlying issues that lead you to an eating disorder are treated!

Hope this has been of some help, even if it is limited!

All the best

Expertise

I am a medical student and have suffered from anorexia and bulimia myself, I am willing to answer questions based on my own experiences. My advice, however, should not be used as a substitute for that of a qualified medical professional.

Experience

I suffered from anorexia from the age of about 10. By the age of 13 I was suffering from bulimia. Now after 10 years of suffering from an eating disorder, I feel that I can say that I'm well on my way with recovery and would just like to be able to share what I have learned with those in similar situations!
