Anorexia/Eating Disorders/want to lose more weight
Expert: Joanne - 7/19/2008
Questioni recentley lost like a lot of weight but i was constricting myself when it came to eating so all i drink is 2 litres of water and one meal a day, i wuld have no snacks in between and i wuld weigh myself like 4-6 times a day making sure the weight i lost doesnt come back on. However my weighing scales tells me one thing and the one in boots is telling me another my weighing scales shows me to be at 7 stone 1 and the weighing scales in boots has shown me to be 7 stone 11, I am 5'3'3 and i feel like a fat cow, i feel so guilty whenever i eat something and i desperatleley want to be small, and people think i have gone skinny but i dont feel it, i have never missed a period before in my life but i have missed 2 periods now, i dont know whats wrong with me and how do i lose the weight that i have put on?
AnswerHi there!
You need to seek some help now. I think that you are at serious risk of developing a very serious eating disorder, so that needs to be addressed ASAP! The longer these things go on, the more ingrained they become, meaning they become harder to treat, and well are constantly causing more and more physical and mental damage.
As for the scales, there is a chance that one may be wrong! Scales need to be checked on a regular basis to ensure that they are measuring accurately, and I would reckon that this is not the case in your house, and again, I don't know how often boots scales will be done either! DITCH THE SCALES!!!! I would not recommend even owning a set if you need to constantly weigh yourself. Most weight fluctuations that you notice will actually be due to differences in water content rather than true weight. If you feel that you need to put your mind at rest, take something that you know the exact weight of - do you have dumbells in your house? Even a kg bag of flour or something, and weigh this on your scales at home. Do your scales give you the correct weight?
I think that you need to get yourself to a Dr soon, especially since you are now also missing periods! This really needs to be dealt with! Eating disorders can be deadly!
