Answer Dear Marianne,
I understand how conflicted you must feel, swinging from being morbidly obese to now vomiting, using laxitives and anorexia. Would you believe to know that these are all diseases and that you are not a bad person?
Treatment is a good option, but you might also want to try Overeaters Anonymous. You see, it's not so much what you are doing with food (over/under eating and purging) so much as what happens in your head. The anorexic, bulimic and overeater all share the same obsession with their weight and food.
If you want to check out OA, look at their website, www.oa.org, there's a listing of meetings both locally, online and even telephone.
If you can afford the time and investment, it is also advisable to seek treatment. If you wish to speak to me without any obligation, please email me at lifecoachgerri@aol.com. I do coach people for weight problems but suggest that coaching suppliments treatment or recovery in a 12 step program.
