Anorexia/Eating Disorders/metabolism and weight gain after ED

Question
hello!

I know that you might get this question a lot, but I just have to know...  I'm a 17 year old 5'0, currently 85 lb anorexic/bulimic.  I restricted, but when I rarely ate, I purged until the bile showed.  Now, I am currently getting myself through recovery (cause I want to, not cause it's forced), but I'm afraid that I'll be even bigger than I was before!  I was 130 at my highest - is that my pre-ED weight?  Will my metabolism heal if I start eating really healthy normal meals right away?  Or am I doomed forever? =(

Answer
At 17 you should be weighing more than 85 pounds and you're at the danger point where you're on a diet to get you to put on weight for your height. I would consult with a doctor and get a referral to an endocrinologist to check hormone levels so you're not gaining weight out of control after recovery from an eating disorder.
