Question Hi, I really need help cause I workout almost daily like running for 60mins and attending aerobics classes plus the resistance training. My BMI is 21 and I look fit but I eat very little and still can't lose on the scale. My breakfast is a boiled egg with cottage cheese and toast, my lunch is steamed veg (cause I suffer from IBS) with a piece of protein and my dinner is a yogurt. I give myself a day off and eat what I want but I stay the following week trying to lose what I gained on that day. I really need help with my diet I want to eat healthy and lose weight. I want to lose from 6lbs to 10lbs. Pls pls help me. Thanks
Answer Naela- From what I can tell, it seems like you have a pretty healthy lifestyle. You cross train most days of the week, have a diet that includes veggies, protein, and dairy. I'm not sure of your height but a BMI of 21 is normal for most people. Taking a day off and eating what you want (except in the case of real bingeing where you eat much more than normal) is also fine. It sounds to me like you have a pretty healthy life style which makes me wonder why you feel compelled to lose 6-10lbs. Is that an arbitrary weight or is it an exact weight that will help lower your chance for a disease?
Unless you are restrictive in your diet and eat only those few items you mentioned, you are obsessed with your body weight or image, or have a disease issue or have lost your menstrual cycle, it doesn't seem like you have a problem. I would suggest making sure you are eating a variety of food and getting some "good" fat like the oils from nuts, fish, or olives. Give yourself permission to take a day off training if your body is sore or tired, and change up your routine from time to time to avoid getting into a workout rut (try yoga and/or weight training).
If there is more to your situation that you need to explain, please write back, otherwise, it seems like you are on a pretty healthy path.
