Question
hello dr.
a friend of mine told me this morning that she thought i had some anorexic tendoncies. i am not thin at all but does this mean theres something wrong in my head?

Answer
Melissa- anorexia is a complex issue because it involves what's going on in your mind, as well as behaviors that are acted out.  Much of it can be contributed to by things that happened to you in the past or your current life situation... see, complex.  One can certainly have tendencies without a full-blown diagnosable case.  It would depend on what your friend considers to be "tendencies."
