Question
hello, my name is iain, ive got a problem, for a few years now, well over 6 years, i used to be big build and now ive just swung the oposite way and now ive lost alot of weight, the annoying thing is, im eating double compared to many years ago and yes my job is half physical, the other half is driving large vehicles and id thought that would help me to gain some weight but i jus cant keep my weight and i seem to be loosing a little bit every month, i wont go and see my doctor yet but is there anything which could help before i have to see him as my last option  ?

Answer
Iain-  I feel like there may be some holes in the email you sent and that I'm not getting everything there is to know.  If you were big and are now very lean but have not been trying to lose (and are actually trying to gain), then there could be a medical problem.  In the states, successful weight loss is so rare that medical doctors are trained to look for diseases in people who have lost weight, even if they report that they have been trying to lose weight.  So, either there is more that I need to understand about your situation, or you need to see a physician about your unexplained weight loss.

I can answer questions specifically geared towards athletes and their eating issues. I would be able to assist parents or coaches with questions or concerns about disordered eating practices often found in the exercise and sports settings. I also have experience in training and conditioning so I am in a position to discus how the two interrelate.
