Anorexia/Eating Disorders/Fluid

Question
My daughter has suffered from anorexia for the past 4 years.  She is now recovering and I am very proud of what she has accomplished.  She is 16 years old and her weight went down to 73 pounds. She is now at a healthy weight.  My questions is, do you know of any issues/medical problems that accur during recovery.  I ask this because my daughter seems to be retaining a LOT of fluid.  This is making her very misserable.  I am very concerned.  It is very obvious in her face, ankles, wrist and pretty much her entire body.  Can you give me any advise.

Thank you for any advise that you can give.

Answer
You need to talk to a doctor about that because I can't give medical advice and that's something you need to really address with a trained medical professional. A doctor specializing in eating disorders can tell you what to expect when someone's in recovery as to what they deal with physically and what changes their bodies go through when they're healing from an eating disorder.
