Question
I think I may have an eating disorder. I don't eat during the day and then binge later on. I then feel guilty and make myself throw up and then do compulsive excersise. I don't do this everyday but it is an increasing pattern. I play with my food and feel guilty when i eat. According to my parents i have a distorted image of my body but are my parents biased or am i actually thin.

I don't know if you are 'thin' or not, but I'm reckoning your parents will have a slightly more logical idea of this than you do if you are becoming obsessive about it.

You definitely seem to have some disordered eating patterns, so I would recommend trying to talk to someone that can get you the help you need for it - be it a teacher, Dr, friend or relative!  But please do try to get some help for this soon!  Eating disorders can kill!

Expertise

I am a medical student and have suffered from anorexia and bulimia myself, I am willing to answer questions based on my own experiences. My advice, however, should not be used as a substitute for that of a qualified medical professional.

Experience

I suffered from anorexia from the age of about 10. By the age of 13 I was suffering from bulimia. Now after 10 years of suffering from an eating disorder, I feel that I can say that I'm well on my way with recovery and would just like to be able to share what I have learned with those in similar situations!
