There are no Pro's to being anorexic!  It is not a way to be thin or anything else!  You will never be slim or toned - you will look sick and skinny, which is so not a good look!!

Rather than sit here and list everything that is a con, I would like you to go to
http://www.something-fishy.org/dangers/dangers.php
and read the bit about dangers associated with and diseases triggered by....  That is a list of just the health problems that you may experience when suffering from anorexia.

Mentally you will change as well.  It will become harder for you to socialise and you may withdraw from friends and family.  You may find it harder to concentrate and succeed at school, college or work.  All your thoughts will begin to revolve around food and eating!

I think that you should may an appointment with a therapist that specialises in body image issues and maybe work on accepting your body as it is.

If you still want to slim, I would recommend looking at visiting a dietician to get a meal plan that will allow you to lose weight safely, and healthily, and then look at spending time in the gym exercising, and really spending time working with resistance machines to make yourself toned and well-defined rather than skinny.

Expertise

I am a medical student and have suffered from anorexia and bulimia myself, I am willing to answer questions based on my own experiences. My advice, however, should not be used as a substitute for that of a qualified medical professional.

Experience

I suffered from anorexia from the age of about 10. By the age of 13 I was suffering from bulimia. Now after 10 years of suffering from an eating disorder, I feel that I can say that I'm well on my way with recovery and would just like to be able to share what I have learned with those in similar situations!
