Question
will my teeth ever get back to normal once i quit my problem and will my body go back in shape. what kind of psycologist should i see and where do i find one? does my would have to give me a medical leave? please give me more direction. you have really helped me already and i am starving for your advise

Answer
Unfortunately, once enamel has been lost, it cannot be replaced!  It is now a matter of making sure that you take care of what is left.  Continuing to make yourself sick will eventually discolour and lead to the tooth rotting as there isn't the enamel to protect it, but since giving up the purging, My teeth seem to be in ok condition, and I don't see why yours wouldn't.  If this is a big issue for you, once you have recovered from the bulimia, you could maybe think about getting veneers (spelling?) put on or something.

I recommend going to your Dr and seeing if they can recommend a good psychologist.  I think that those that have experience in eating disorders are the best, or one that specialises in body image issues.

You wouldn't need to get medical Leave if you don't want to, that was more an option if you didn't want to have to arrange time off for appointments!

Hope this helps

Expertise

I am a medical student and have suffered from anorexia and bulimia myself, I am willing to answer questions based on my own experiences. My advice, however, should not be used as a substitute for that of a qualified medical professional.

Experience

I suffered from anorexia from the age of about 10. By the age of 13 I was suffering from bulimia. Now after 10 years of suffering from an eating disorder, I feel that I can say that I'm well on my way with recovery and would just like to be able to share what I have learned with those in similar situations!
