Anorexia/Eating Disorders/I don't like food anymore?
Expert: Joanne - 10/16/2007
QuestionI wasn't sure how to say it but it's true. I don't know why either, while my homelife hasn't changed it hasn't always been that great. I don't have many friends and I don't have a lot of reasons to leave the house but I do from time to time. Anyway...I just don't like eating. I find it stange mostly because I use to love food and eating, i've never been overweight or anything but lately I just think everything either tastes bad or repusles me somehow. I do try to make myself eat something during the day, mostly things I know i'll somehow like, like a pb&j sandwich. Any advice or anything? I'm not concerned about loosing weight or anything, so I don't think it's that but i'm tired of having hunger pangs but not finding anything tempting enough to satisfy it.
AnswerI think you should speak to your Dr - this seems to be a loss of appetite, and there is usually a reason for this, be it physical or psychological.
Many people loss their appetite when they may be unahhpy with their life, or something within their life, so it may be worth speaking to someone to maybe identify and resolve any underlying issue that may exist.
I think that you should look at seeing someone about this before a lack of food begins to have effects on your health, you will risk becoming deficient in vitamins and minerals, essential for everyday functions.
Please feel free to come back if there is anything else you would like to ask or discuss!
All the best
