Anorexia/Eating Disorders/when i eat, i binge

Question
Hi, I successfully lost weight in the past (25 lbs and I kept it for two years. I ate nothing but fruits and vegetables. I know this is what you call a fad diet but now I've developed an eating disorder. I've been binging for the past four months now and gained an excessive amount of weight is a short period of time. I went to the doctor and they told me that there's nothing to do about it. The eating disorder clinic cannot help me cos' I'm not eating for emotional reasons. I want to stop binging because I'm afraid that I'll start purging soon because my weight is going up and up and up. I tried everything to break the cycle but the cravings were so intense. I can't control it. I've tried everything and nothing works. I even get withdrawal symptoms when I don't eat carbs (bread, cookies, pasta, cheese, etc. Help me!

Answer
Having been where you are and feeling just as frustrated, I ended up making a site about it once I figured it all out.  The thing is that I "knew" (just like you obviously do) all the right things I was supposed to do - and all the wrong things I continued to do.  Yep, fruit and veggie diets, water and juice fasts, low carb, no sugar, cabbage soup - you name it.
NONE of the weight loss lasted. Zero.

My overwhelming cravings were for sugar right after eating carbs (which were also craved big time).

So, anyway - there's no reason to stop eating what you like, but there are little things to put in place to control yourself.

Start your day with a whole grain breakfast - every day. No fail. No kidding. I know you've heard it before, but THIS time it's going to work because you're not going to be on a DIET.

There isn't enough space here to go over everything, but check my site (it's all free and there is no ulterior motive) - then let me know.  I'll be happy to support you through this all the way

Expertise

I have lived it and survived it. I know every excuse, reason, thought, feeling and rationalization - and I'm going to be very honest in my advice.

Experience

I've lost (& gained)HUNDREDS of lbs over a lifetime, more than 30 years of "professional dieting". Presently a counselor for sufferers of eating disorders, a nutritional advisor and spiritual counselor (Reverend, doctor); I've been on every diet there is and used the most bizarre weight loss products you can imagine. I am FORMERLY obese, anorexic (several times), bulimic MOST of the time - and maintaining size 4, with no gimmicks, devices, programs, pills or supplements.

I currently investigate the diet industry on behalf of consumers who do not need to be ripped off while struggling to be healthy. I WILL expose them all and I WON'T be intimidated, bullied or bought. My advice is for cost-free options. I have nothing whatsoever to gain from my recommendation(s). I make no money from my website and I sell, promote, endorse NO diet/health products, programs or devices. You'll also never see me on the receiving end of a hidden camera report...but you can be assured, I won't quit until I've exposed those who are out to take advantage of you.

It's a matter of choices. We need to stop complicating things.
