how much weight could i lose in a week..

Answer
When you go on a ‘diet’ (of any kind), especially cutting calories below 1,200-1,600 per day, you are not only setting yourself up for a very slow metabolism, but weight gain.

The body is still just a biological organism, no matter how smart we think we are.  When this animal  (human) senses famine or starvation, it begins to pull energy from the muscles (and possibly organ tissue or even bone). The less muscle, the lower the metabolism.  The lower the metabolism, the more fat.  The more fat, the more insulation and the more likely this animal is to survive the famine.  That’s biological instinct at it’s very best!

During famine, we don’t need muscle since we aren’t out there hunting and gathering as much.  If we push it and increase our exercise during a famine, the body works harder to convert this newly formed and toned muscle into fat storage.  In anorexics, fat layers are the last to go. By the time an anorexic appears anorexic, there’s usually extensive organ and bone damage, often permanent and life threatening.  The first muscle to suffer is the heart, even if anorexia doesn’t develop.

Osteoporosis (bone loss and degeneration) can contribute to spontaneous or stress fractures that may snap vertebrae in the spine (and decrease your height, deform your spinal column, etc).  This is not reversible and can effect people in their teens as well as older.

Finally, there is nearly a 100% failure rate of all diets that you eventually ‘go off’.  Not only will most people re-gain all the weight they’ve lost, but an average of 20% more - and metabolism may end up slow for years to come.

Most overweight people can attest to being on a diet at least once a year, every year and gaining weight year to year as well.

Diets do not work.  No pills, programs, powders, plans or products.

Expertise

I have lived it and survived it. I know every excuse, reason, thought, feeling and rationalization - and I'm going to be very honest in my advice.

Experience

I've lost (& gained)HUNDREDS of lbs over a lifetime, more than 30 years of "professional dieting". Presently a counselor for sufferers of eating disorders, a nutritional advisor and spiritual counselor (Reverend, doctor); I've been on every diet there is and used the most bizarre weight loss products you can imagine. I am FORMERLY obese, anorexic (several times), bulimic MOST of the time - and maintaining size 4, with no gimmicks, devices, programs, pills or supplements.

I currently investigate the diet industry on behalf of consumers who do not need to be ripped off while struggling to be healthy. I WILL expose them all and I WON'T be intimidated, bullied or bought. My advice is for cost-free options. I have nothing whatsoever to gain from my recommendation(s). I make no money from my website and I sell, promote, endorse NO diet/health products, programs or devices. You'll also never see me on the receiving end of a hidden camera report...but you can be assured, I won't quit until I've exposed those who are out to take advantage of you.

It's a matter of choices. We need to stop complicating things.
