Question
i've changed my mind. instead of eating 500 calories, ive upped it to about 1300?  thats good enough. i still try to do the exercising probably 5 times a week, 2000 calories a day. Also i started taking a weight loss pill called hot rox.  do you know anything about it? im trying to weigh 145 by april. thats seems like 10lbs a month. resonable right?

Answer
I, myself, have never taken a weight loss pill of any sort. For starters, no one would sell me them!  I can not help you with that. Speak to your pharmacist or someone in the know, they should be able to help.

It is recommended that you try to lose 1-2lbs a week, but when some people start to diet - especially those who are overweight - it is common to lose weight at a greater rate in the beginning. So 10lbs a month definitely seems achievable but only if you are eating as you say you are and not restricting any more than that. The exercise will definitely help, but don't over do it! Be aware that if you do restrict and exercise excessively, you are storing up problems for the future. Anorexia and excessive exercising can lead to osteoporosis - thinning of the bones - and in severe cases, even death.

Please think about this and try to follow a healthy eating plan, along with regular exercise.

Expertise

I am a medical student and have suffered from anorexia and bulimia myself, I am willing to answer questions based on my own experiences. My advice, however, should not be used as a substitute for that of a qualified medical professional.

Experience

I suffered from anorexia from the age of about 10. By the age of 13 I was suffering from bulimia. Now after 10 years of suffering from an eating disorder, I feel that I can say that I'm well on my way with recovery and would just like to be able to share what I have learned with those in similar situations!
