Anorexia/Eating Disorders/gag reflex

Question
I wasn't sure who to ask this question too and this was the closest catagory i could find.I hope i'm at the right place. My wife suffers from a very weak stomach and has a very hard time keeping food down when certain things happen such as gross coments, animals eating on television, oders, etc. It even happens sometimes when their isn't anything else going on.Also when she goes to the dentist she requires some type of gag reflex medication before they can work on her teeth. My question is, is their some type of over the counter medication that can help with the gag reflex problems? If their was i think it would help with the rest of the problems she has keeping the food down.

Answer
Aloha, there seems to be a very easy trigger working here.
Peppermint and ginger tea are good for settling the stomach.  I would highly recommend seeing a qualiifed hypnotherapist who could get her to relax during the eating and digesting process. Plus I have a feeling hypnosis could help her get the root cause of the gag reflex whether it is a muscle reflex or a memory or even a past life issue.
It also can be a big indication that she was orally sexually abused as a child, which she would need to address.
Anyway my suggestion it to find out WHY and then treat the symptom.
Hope that helps. ALoha Keala
