Question
where can I find help for my husband bulimia problem?

Answer
I am so, so sorry that I've taken so long to get back to you!

I'm not sure where in the world you are, but if it is America, I'd recommend visiting www.something-fishy.org and having a look at their treatment finder tool.  If, like me, you are in Britain, I'd suggest looking at a similar tool on www.edauk.co.uk

If not from either, I recommend searching on the web for treatment options near you.

Even if you are not in America, I'd still recommend looking at something-fishy.  They have excellent support forums for both the sufferer and you, as a loved one.  They are completely separate, so you can only sign up for one, giving you the chance to speak to people going through this terrible situation without your husband knowing what you are writing, allowing you to be completely honest and get the support you need, just as he can on the other boards!

Please take care of yourself.  This can be as hard for you as it is for the person with the eating disorder.  You need to get professional help as you will not manage this alone, and to try may be damaging to your relationship!

Please feel free to come back if you, or your husband, have any other questions!

All the best
Holly

Expertise

I am a medical student and have suffered from anorexia and bulimia myself, I am willing to answer questions based on my own experiences. My advice, however, should not be used as a substitute for that of a qualified medical professional.

Experience

I suffered from anorexia from the age of about 10. By the age of 13 I was suffering from bulimia. Now after 10 years of suffering from an eating disorder, I feel that I can say that I'm well on my way with recovery and would just like to be able to share what I have learned with those in similar situations!
