Anorexia/Eating Disorders/stunted growth

Question
I am 15 and recovering from bulimia, which developed at the age of 13. I lost some weight and it slowed my growth to about an inch per year. I had not yet had my period, and still don't have it. I am much shorter than everyone in my family. At 15, what is the chance I could achieve some catch up growth and maybe grow another two inches? (my mid parent height is about 2 inches taller)

Answer
Girls don't stop growing until they are about 18, so I wouldn't worry too much as you've still got a few years to catch up!

As for your period, the bulimia could have affected it starting, but there is also a chance that you are one of those girls that don't start their period until you are 15/16.  If you are very concerned about your lack of period, I would suggest going to see your Dr and tell him about your bulimic past and everything and see if he thinks it is necessary to investigate further, but I reckon that it will start in its own time!

Expertise

I am a medical student and have suffered from anorexia and bulimia myself, I am willing to answer questions based on my own experiences. My advice, however, should not be used as a substitute for that of a qualified medical professional.

Experience

I suffered from anorexia from the age of about 10. By the age of 13 I was suffering from bulimia. Now after 10 years of suffering from an eating disorder, I feel that I can say that I'm well on my way with recovery and would just like to be able to share what I have learned with those in similar situations!
