Anthropology/Social Self-Destruction

Question
I'm not sure if I'm even asking the right person for this, but it occurred to me today to ask...

Humans in general seem so self destructive, from direct suicide all the way to destroying our own planet environmentally.  Are there any other species in our world who's own actions has resulted in their own complete demise?

Answer
Hi Thomas,

There have been some species that live in such a narrow niche environmentally that when the climate changed or some other aspect of their environment changed they died out.  Some die out due to massive environmental change due to volcanic activity, asteroid collision with the Earth, ice ages etc... But man, in all of "his" wisdom is the only species that finds ways to reduce the population by stupidity.

I thank the Force every day that I'm not from this planet.
