Question
Dear Mr Shea I have discovered many unknown type artifacts.Five of the artifacts I am convinced can not be recreated by modern man.If you would just make the hundreds of micro size images and symbols plain to see would open the door to understanding the Paleolithic. You can see some of these artifacts at http://www.pangeawv.com
These artifacts have never been seen by a Proffesional.I put the web site up 4-3-07.I have many more artifacts not seen on the web.I invite you to view the artifacts and put them to any test you like.I would be glad to answer any questions you have.My name is Michael Ellis 304-768-2011

Answer
Dear Michael
The objects on your website appear to be naturally-eroded fragments of rock that happen to resemble familiar objects.
Sincerely,
John Shea

The metal object is probably a either a natural fragment of ore or an industrial byproduct.
You know, Michael, I try to keep an open mind about things like this, but after a while, one sees the pattern.  Someone like yourself finds something interesting, often a rock that resembles an artifact, and they ask me about it.  I tell them what I think (that it is a rock that resembles an artifact).  Most people to whom I say this are curious and polite and ask follow up questions about how to acquire the geological and archaeological skills necessary to tell natural objects from actual artifacts.  A small minority have so much invested emotionally in their finds that they get upset.  Often, they have constructed elaborate fantasies about the origins of these artifact that are utterly disconnected from any scientific understanding about the human past. Your rating of my response suggests you number among the latter. You'll not get far in dealing with professional scientists if this is how you react when you hear results you don't like.
Lastly, many of the pictures on your webpage are copyrighted images.  You should at least credit their sources.
Cordially,
John Shea
