Question I have three of these clocks and have rebuilt all three of them, 2 run beautifully and the third doesn't, the pendulum swings, the clock ticks and the weight for the clock moves down accordingly but the hands do not move, if you move them manually the clock chimes on the hour and on the half, but they do not move on their own accord...please help, I am going crazy!
Answer troy,
Did you take them completely apart and overhaul them? You did not specify whether these are antiques or not.
Do the hands flop and feel loose?
Did you disassemble the centershaft? Make sure you assembled it correctly. There should be a washer a coil spring the wheel with pinion facing toward the front of the clock and an e-clip to hold it in place.Antiques use pressure springs and pins on the assembly.
Sometimes its difficult to diagnose a problem without having the movement in hand.
