Question
my cuckoo clock minute hand will not continue to turn.  It will run for a few minutes to a half hour and then not move anymore.  the pendulum continues to tick tock but the hand does not move so time stands still.  I've tried different hands, different nuts and it continues to stop.  Any ideas?  thank you in advance.

Answer
Hi Nancy, looking at the end where the hands fit you see where the hour hand fits. The hour hand is the short hand with the large hole and that fits over the brass hour pipe. That is just a press on tight fit. After that hand is in place a washer with a square hole goes on with the edge extending outward. Now you have a nut with a flat side, slip the hand on after you have alined the hour strike, set the minute hand on and tighten the nut, then turn the hand to the 1/2 hour and make sure it strikes, if it is not aligned perfect just loosen the hand nut and aline the hand then tighten. The minute hand is held tight using the nut, good luck, David M
