Antique Musical Instruments/Buetcher Grand Trombone

Question
In have come across a Buetcher Grand Trombone in a relatives belonging that I have inherited.  It reads Buetcher Grand trombone, Elkhart, Ind. on the bell and the slide pieces are mated and read Ser 203604 LP 38 1/2
Pat Oct 23 07. It is good condition and still play's nicely.  The gold finish is clean and legible but needs to be cleaned.  I read the comment above, and was thinking of selling this but have not found anyone in Alaska so far that can give me more information that what I have.  Any ideas or approximate values?  Thanks for your efforts and advise.

Answer
It was made in 1926.
I think the patent is for Oct 29 07, which is for a technique to increase bell thickness.
Is it gold plated or raw brass?

As far as selling it, if you provide accurate pictures and description, putting it on eBay is a safe way to do it.  The market will raise to a fair price.

Expertise

Please note: My area is BRASS instruments, not other wind, string or percussion instruments. I will provide information on antique, obscure and out of production BRASS instruments. 1) Please don't ask for evaluations, I'll not provide them on this site. 2) I am often asked very similar questions, so I'd invite you to first check on Horn-u-Copia.net. Much of the information I have garnered about this topic, I have posted on this WEB site.

Experience

I perform in several historical bands, have informally researched the area, repair brass instruments, and operate a Forum dedicated to the topic at http://horn-u-copia.net
