Antique Musical Instruments/Vendome trumpet

Question
My daughter just purchased a trumpet. The person we bought it from thinks it was made in the 1940's. It has Vendome etched on it above the bell as well as some intricate decorate etching on the body of it. It says it was made in Holland. The serial number is 32097. The valves has the number 292, 293, and 294 on them. Any info would be appreciated as this is a gift for her boyfriend. Thanks!!!

Answer
That is not a name that I have come across before, But the numbering system on the valves would indicate that it is an older instrument.

If you want to pursue this further, I'd suggest you send me pictures, and I'll post them on Horn-u-copia, and see if some of the guys who live in the that area of the world recognize it.

Expertise

Please note: My area is BRASS instruments, not other wind, string or percussion instruments. I will provide information on antique, obscure and out of production BRASS instruments. 1) Please don't ask for evaluations, I'll not provide them on this site. 2) I am often asked very similar questions, so I'd invite you to first check on Horn-u-Copia.net. Much of the information I have garnered about this topic, I have posted on this WEB site.

Experience

I perform in several historical bands, have informally researched the area, repair brass instruments, and operate a Forum dedicated to the topic at http://horn-u-copia.net
