Antique Musical Instruments/Olympian cornet

Question
I was just given an old Olympian cornet. Except for a serial number and the name, there are no other markings on the horn. The mouthpiece says "made in Czechoslovikia". There was some old music in the case with a 1956 date on it. I have scanned the internet and found virtually nothing about Olympian. Any thoughts?

Answer
I can show you numerous examples of their products, (http://www.horn-u-copia.net/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?board=Olympian)

But, no history on the Company.  It is the name used by a dealer, not a maker.  Some are marked as made in Germany, some in the US, and some are Czech made.  Some of them may have been made by Keilwerth.

Expertise

Please note: My area is BRASS instruments, not other wind, string or percussion instruments. I will provide information on antique, obscure and out of production BRASS instruments. 1) Please don't ask for evaluations, I'll not provide them on this site. 2) I am often asked very similar questions, so I'd invite you to first check on Horn-u-Copia.net. Much of the information I have garnered about this topic, I have posted on this WEB site.

Experience

I perform in several historical bands, have informally researched the area, repair brass instruments, and operate a Forum dedicated to the topic at http://horn-u-copia.net
