About Suzie
Experience
I have been fixing and reselling flutes (both young and old!) for the last 5 years and occasionally some other woodwinds on occasion. I've been well acquainted with antique oboes, clarinets, and most flutes (including piccolos and fifes) and should be able to help with most questions.

Education/Credentials
A few years ago, I attended a technical college for a band instrument repair course. After I left the college, I began educating myself on antique flutes, clarinets and oboes and continue to try helping people with their instruments. I'm able to provide an estimate of the value of the instrument(s) as well as an estimate for restoration of the instrument(s). If you have a very important question and/or I haven't written back to your question within a few days, please feel free to give me a call at any time on my cell phone: 570-236-7054. Thanks!

Question
QUESTION: I have a question in regards to the value of the indian by martin saxophone. I know that is considered an antique. It hasn't been restored and the brass needs polishing. what would be a suggested sale value?

ANSWER: There are a few different models of this saxophone. Is it marked 'The Indiana'? Any other writing on the saxophone? By the right hand thumb-rest, it should have something like a patent date (possibly) which is Sept. ##, 19## and it should say C L, A L or Eb L. Can you tell me if your saxophone is marked with any of the above things? Also, is it silver or gold in color? Thanks! -Suzie

QUESTION: The Indiana by Martin i mean. below that it states Elkhart IND.

The numbers below the right thumb rest is 62357 and it is in Gold in Color.

Answer
Hello again, thanks for writing! I sold a similar saxophone a few months back that was linked to Reynolds and had an 'R' on the side of the bell keys. Here's a link for comparison:

If yours is an actual 'The Indiana' (not Reynolds), then my estimated value would be about $200-400+. Thanks! -Suzie
