Antique Musical Instruments/King Baritone

Question
I'm trying to get some information on an old baritone (upright valves) that I've had for a few years.  The engraving on the bell says:

King
Made By
H. N. White
Cleveland
Ohio

Valve #2 has the same thing stamped on it along with the number "28601" below it.

I'd like to find out just how old the horn is.

Answer
This horn was made between 1910 and 1915 (probably closer to 1910).

HN White Company was originally established as White & Berg. They collaborated with Thomas K King.  "King" was originally a model of trombone with a new type of slide that eventually morphed into a trade name.

Expertise

Please note: My area is BRASS instruments, not other wind, string or percussion instruments. I will provide information on antique, obscure and out of production BRASS instruments. 1) Please don't ask for evaluations, I'll not provide them on this site. 2) I am often asked very similar questions, so I'd invite you to first check on Horn-u-Copia.net. Much of the information I have garnered about this topic, I have posted on this WEB site.

Experience

I perform in several historical bands, have informally researched the area, repair brass instruments, and operate a Forum dedicated to the topic at http://horn-u-copia.net
