Question
I have an old C.G Conn Coronet, the serial is 238492 i know the horn dates back to about 1926-1927 but I want to find out the model name so i can register it. Any advice?

Answer
There is practically no way to determine the model from the serial number.  But you can go to either The Conn Loyalist(http://www.xs4all.nl/~cderksen/) or The Conn Cornet list on Horn-u-copia, (http://www.horn-u-copia.net/show.php?selby=+where+instrument%3D%22Cornet%22+and+...) can try to match yours up with what is displayed.

Expertise

Please note: My area is BRASS instruments, not other wind, string or percussion instruments. I will provide information on antique, obscure and out of production BRASS instruments. 1) Please don't ask for evaluations, I'll not provide them on this site. 2) I am often asked very similar questions, so I'd invite you to first check on Horn-u-Copia.net. Much of the information I have garnered about this topic, I have posted on this WEB site.

Experience

I perform in several historical bands, have informally researched the area, repair brass instruments, and operate a Forum dedicated to the topic at http://horn-u-copia.net
