Antique Musical Instruments/Boosey & Hawkes Emperor Bb Trumpet

Question
I have a Boosey & Hawkes Emperor Bb trumpet with a 13C Rudy Mück cushion rim made in England mouthpiece and I can't find anything about it on the web. It has engaved on the bell the word EMPEROR in a decorated oblong box with a pattern above the box including a star and below the box a leaf design and
MADE BY
Boosey & Hawkes Ltd
London
MADE IN ENGLAND
I believe it is an old trumpet and it is in very good condition so I don't know if it has been refurbished. It has LP. 206267 stamped underneath the bell tube opposite the valves.
Do you know anything about the trumpet and mouthpiece such as date of make, is it a good trumpet, if it is worth anything?
Many thanks for your time and attention.

Answer
It appears to have been made in 1955.  It should be a good horn.  Boosey and Hawkes has a long history.  They merged Boosey and Co, and Hawkes and Son in 1930.  Rudy Muck started making instruments, but after his mouthpieces became so popular, he decided to focus on just making mouthpieces.

Expertise

Please note: My area is BRASS instruments, not other wind, string or percussion instruments. I will provide information on antique, obscure and out of production BRASS instruments. 1) Please don't ask for evaluations, I'll not provide them on this site. 2) I am often asked very similar questions, so I'd invite you to first check on Horn-u-Copia.net. Much of the information I have garnered about this topic, I have posted on this WEB site.

Experience

I perform in several historical bands, have informally researched the area, repair brass instruments, and operate a Forum dedicated to the topic at http://horn-u-copia.net
