Emil Kopp, the name who is engraved in the mouthpiece, is my great-great-grandfather and did in fact play for the Chicago symphony. I would be interested in learning more about the instrument and communicating with the person who asked the question. However, I could not find the questioners name or email address anywhere. Answer Hannah, I'm not familiar enough with the workings of Ask the Experts to know whether there is a way to make contact with the questioner or not. I do not have that information.
It would be frustrating as close as you are to not to be able to make that connection, but I don't have the information you seek nor know of a way for you to obtain it. You could try the administrators of Ask the Experts, but I suspect they may not be able to help either.
