Antique Musical Instruments/Ivers & Pond Piano

Question
Hi Todd:
I also have an older Ivers & Pond piano, serial #77945, built in Boston.  It is a continuous rim, capo d'astro bar, triplex treble model, scale 75A. Its ivories and keys are in excellent condition. The entire exterior was refurbished about 20 years ago; it has rarely been touched since and is in meticulous condition. The sounding board is cracked and needs to be replaced. I'm not sure what that might cost, if the resulting sound quality will justify the expense, or how much it might sell for before or after such a repair.  Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Answer
Hi,
Thank you for using allexperts.  The piano was built in 1935.  Ivers & Pond is an exceptional piano.  It is actually one of the finest pianos ever made.
I would definitely recommend that you consider restoring it.  If you email me photos of the piano, that will help to assess its condition and what may need to be done.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,
Todd Lindeblad
