Question
Hello,

I have inherited my grandmother's old upright piano. It is from the 1930's (estimating) because she got it when she was 14 (but don't know if it was new when she got it. It has 2 pedals. It is Pratt, Read, and Co. on the label inside. It is in EC, just needs tuning. The bench is in great condition. The serial number is 128667. Inside the keyboard cover says "Winter New York".

I cannot find a date on it anywhere. Any idea of it's worth or how I can find a date of manufacture ? I have looked everywhere. Interesting story.....We live in East TN. My grandmother's father hauled the piano back from Greenville, SC on a wagon with a team of mules to get it for her when she was 14.

Thank you !

Answer
Hi,
Thank you for using allexperts.  Your piano was built in 1935.  It is probably worth around $500. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
