Question
I noticed a 2007 question re cornets and have another. I have a silver cornet and the bell is engraved; "Made by the Boston Musical Instrument Manufy.". The serial # is; 8221. Do you have any info re this instrument?
These are respected vintage instruments. Your dates to around 1886.
Boston Musical Instrument Manufactory was formed in 1869 from the joining of the significant Civil War era makers Graves & Co. and E. G. Wright & Co. The company nane was changed to "Boston Musical Instrument Company in 1913.
